Paperless-ngx

Paperless turns paper into searchable files. Upload a scan or a photo of a letter, receipt, or bill, and Paperless reads the text, files it, and lets you find it again by searching for any word in it.

Signing in

Go to https://paperless.silverlight-nex.us. You're sent to Authentik to sign in, then straight into Paperless — there's no separate Paperless password.

First time? You may see an empty page

Your Paperless profile is created the first time you sign in, but it starts with no permissions. If the dashboard is blank or says you don't have permission, let Oscar know so they can switch it on.

Use the website

Paperless phone apps expect a Paperless username and password, which your account doesn't have, so they won't connect here. The website works well on a phone browser — add it to your home screen for quick access.

Adding documents

  • Drag and drop files (PDFs, photos, Word documents) anywhere onto the Dashboard, or click Upload on the Documents page.
  • On a phone: open the website, tap Upload, and choose Take Photo to snap a document straight from the camera.

It takes a minute or so for Paperless to read a new document. It then appears under Documents.

Finding documents

  • Type anything into the search bar at the top — Paperless searches the full text of every document, not just the title.
  • Narrow things down with tags, correspondents (who it's from), and document types (bill, receipt, letter…). Paperless learns to fill these in automatically as you use them.

Who can see my documents?

Documents you upload are yours. To share one with someone else here, open it and use Permissions to give them access.
